Capture the Bear??
Our family was just finishing up dinner around the campfire when we heard hymns being sung in a campsite nearby. All us kids being interested in seeing who was serenading us with such beautiful music moseyed on over to find a bunch of LDS kid waiting to play whatever games we threw their way. J Somehow we all decided on capture the flag. The setting was perfect, two medium sized hills that formed a perfect little valley right in the middle. We divided the teams up and set out on our missions. I was so determined to win the game I staked out a perfect area right up near the flag and sat there for probably 10-15 minutes without moving an inch, if anyone came to take it I would be ready to tag them and bring their sorry selfs to jail. I heard the game being played down below me. Screams and laughs of excitement only made me more steadfast in my task to detain the enemy and win the game. All of a sudden I heard rustling in some bushes nearby, I bolted to the culprit, but surprisingly the perpetrator had been sly enough to pass by me. But how? How could the enemy out run me? ME? This must have pushed me over the edge and turned the crazy switch on in my head and I ran like a madman to protect that which I held so dearly. Nothing was going to stop me from preventing the capture of my precious flag. NOTHING. Running, filled with furry, I ran, ran, ran and then VICTORY WAS MINE! I tagged that who was heading straight to my beloved flag. Then, shouts from the distance turned that crazy switch back to off and I came back to reality. All of a sudden, “BEARS! Bears in the camp!” They must have been shouting this for hours, well, for at least a few minutes…hmmm, maybe seconds…because EVERYBODY except for myself was aware that this culprit that I was so eager to detain was in fact the “bear” that was in the camp…
