Floats

It was a cold and windy day at the beach. We all wore our warm coats and walked around searching for the floats. Floats are made of glass and are very pretty. People bring them to the beach so others can find them. It mostly helps them stay open during the winter time (because who would go to the Oregon beach in the winter, it’s even cold in the summer time). The boys were ahead of Larkin, Mom, and I when we saw a pink sphere in the distance. We ran to it shouting but stopped when we saw what it was. A pink baseball that the boys had set up to trick us into being exited. Larkin was disappointed and Mom and I were sad. Noah, Josh and Dad thought it was funny. We kept searching for the floats. We walked all the way down the beach but didn’t find anything. Defeated, we started walking back. Dad was in front of us when he stopped and called Mom over. When Mom ran over she picked up the float that Dad found. We all ran to the car to bring it to the float place to show them. Once we got there they gave us the information about the guy who made it and congratulated us. We went to another beach to look for another and found a beautiful lime green one. Afterward we went for celebratory pancakes. It was an amazing, fun, awesome day. I am so glad we went float hunting.

Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater Rafting

Crashing through white waters, precariously leaning to one side, water fights, swimming, I was super excited for my first white water rafting trip.  Our neighbors the Dickinsons were hosting the rafting trip. My dad and I got there around six a.m for breakfast. After eating my cereal we headed off in this amazing and old car. The only catch was that it was a four hour drive to the rafting place. Finally we got there and sat in this old fashion bus for another twenty minutes.
The old bus
We got there and paddled off after putting on our lifejackets of course. After a couple of minutes our whole boat laid eyes on The boxcar.
This is an amazing water

Sadly we missed it by a couple of feet. After another hour or two of water fights we stopped for lunch. We had make your own sandwiches for lunch. My rafters and I devised a plan to take pudding cups and chocolate bars on our boat to fling at unsuspecting rafters in water fights.
Lunch Time!!!

It was amazing.  We took some time playing in some warm water and went on this little homemade water slide thing and a whirlpool. The whirlpool was actually called The Washing machine. I went in it and spun for a while. The mini water slide thing had a very long line but I still got to ride in it for a while. At the end of it The water pushed you under for a second or two and then you floated up with your life jacket. Without one you would have stayed under a little longer.
White River

After leaving the warm water we went body surfing.  It was so cold! Before we had slid down two rafts that were upside down.  It was also cold, but not as cold as the surfing.  That was one of the best trips I've ever went on!!!

Mom Tricked Me

Once, my mom tricked me. We were going to school and I noticed we were going the wrong WAY.  Mom was going the wrong way.

So I told her, "Mom we're going the wrong way".

I noticed my back pack was heavier.  So I looked in my back pack.  I saw books instead of my lunch.

I ask her, "Where are we going?"

Mom said,  "We are going on a date!"

I asked her,  "Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise",  Mom said.

I ate Spaghetti Factory for lunch.  We went to the GREAT WOLF LODGE. We went to the swimming pool. I went on a WATER SLIDE!  It was AWESOME!  I went under a big bucket of water It was cool.  We had burgers for dinner!  And then we had chocolate fondue it had COTTON CANDY, GRAHAM CRACKERS, and CHOCOLATE!  It was AWESOME!  We went on a QUEST!  It had dragons in it!  And it had bears in it!   And a fairy.  I got sick in the end.

THE END!

We Went For A Trip. ~Arwen

Once upon a time we were at grandmas house in Colorado.  We went for a trip and we were driving and driving and we saw mountains and we saw a duck.  When we went for lunch we saw a duck.  And then we saw an elk, lots of elks, and reindeer and then we saw a ground squirrel and mom lost her glasses over a fence so she had to climb under and get them.  It was funny.  I had to show mama the book* because she didn't remember.  That's how I make this story.  It's true, if you think it's not... it's true.  Oh and Noah he drowned in a river and daddy had to jump in and save him I was scared.  And we went for ice-cream and Joshua he was all messy.  And then we went to a windy mountain that could almost blow us down.  When Noah fell in the river I was really scared I didn't want him to be drown, but he said he floated.  We were walking near a river, we were playing in the river and throwing rocks and then Noah, he was gone and drowning in the river.  And that's why daddy jumped in and saved him, and I told that Noah is drowning, and that's why I prayed that Noah would be safe.  He got all wet.  And Noah was saved.

*Arwen was telling Sarah about that time she lost her glasses and Arwen had to get them for her.  Sarah couldn't remember so Arwen said I'll show you.  Arwen proceeded to go and get a journal that she kept during the trip and helped Sarah remember the glasses incident from a picture she'd drawn about it.  The book with comments by Arwen is below:

We were paying in the little river and it was fun and we got wet.

We at ice-cream when we were done in the river.

Joshie got all messy.

We played in the river again.

We drived in the car to get to another place.

We were driving and driving.

We saw a elk.

And then we were driving again and driving and driving.  We were driving past trees.

There were 10 other driving pictures like this...we must have been driving for a long time.

We're driving up a mountain.

And then we went up a windy mountain.  It almost blew us down.

When we were hungry we went to eat and when we went to eat we saw a bird.  It was a ducky bird.  And we fed it.

I drew Noah drowning.  It made me too sad so thats why I scribbled it up.

And we saw a reindeer walking on the road.

Mama lost her glasses it was funny.  But she got them back.  She had to climb under a fence to get them.

I sitted by a ground squirrel we were taking a picture of my standing by the ground squirrel.

And then we were waking around and then we saw this rock and daddy carried us over there and we got a little wet with our feet in the water.

And then we went back to grandmas house.
